Imagine you are presenting a news update which includes the headlines of the day's big news stories.
Report on your favourite sporting team's performance or special event they are attending. Or perhaps report on your school's sports carnival or interschool competitions.
You can do a weather update like Frank Warrick letting everyone know what to expect weather wise the following day. Or imagine you are in the field reporting on an extreme or unusual weather condition ie: a hail storm, snow in Stanthorpe or the drought and dam levels.
In this category you can report on any item you think will be of interest to people. Perhaps it is a special project at your school or an achievement by your school or one of the students. Other options might be stories on people, animals, places, entertainment or special events.
Example 1:
A burst water main in Carindale wasted 1000 litres of water in just under an hour, however the local kids didn't waste the opportunity to cool off. And publicists for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have denied rumours that the star couple have split.
Example 2:
North Lakes State School have won the regional sports carnival for the third year in row. The Mayor of Logan, Councillor Pam Parker awarded Kuraby State High School the Council's environmental award in recognition of their tree planting program. And over 3000 students from across Queensland took part in the spectacular opening performance of The Water Festival on Brisbane River earlier today.
Example 1:

The girls, two from regional Queensland and three from Brisbane will train with the entire team in Sydney for a week before heading off to France where they will meet England in round one.
Example 1:
Wild weather lashed Brisbane city this evening causing peak hour traffic havoc. Commuters where caught unprepared when the freak hail storm hit the city. While there have been no injuries reported, damage bills to vehicles and property will keep insurance assessors busy for months. Meteorologists say more hail storms could hit tomorrow.
Example 2:
One of the many benefits of the recent days’ rainfall has been to fill school water tanks. More than 40% of schools throughout the south-east have had rain tanks installed since the drought began. It was a welcome relief to everyone.
Example 1:
Australian cricketer Michael Clark moved from the cricket pitch to the catwalk today when he became the new face of bonds comfy undies. He chose not to strut his stuff in his undies but to wear a more conservative bonds t-shirt for the launch of his new range.
Example 2:
Primary school students from Redcliffe blew up a storm today with their science experiment to generate power from their home built wind farm. Working with the local business community they were able to build a miniature wind farm with six turbine wind mills generating enough power to run 20 refrigerators.
