Tips and Ideas for scripts for each category

Nine News Presenter

Imagine you are presenting a news update which includes the headlines of the day's big news stories.

Nine News Sports Reporter

Report on your favourite sporting team's performance or special event they are attending. Or perhaps report on your school's sports carnival or interschool competitions.

Nine News Weather Reporter

You can do a weather update like Frank Warrick letting everyone know what to expect weather wise the following day. Or imagine you are in the field reporting on an extreme or unusual weather condition ie: a hail storm, snow in Stanthorpe or the drought and dam levels.

Nine News Reporter

In this category you can report on any item you think will be of interest to people. Perhaps it is a special project at your school or an achievement by your school or one of the students. Other options might be stories on people, animals, places, entertainment or special events.

Tips for presenting to camera

  1. Imagine the camera is a person and look straight into the lens
  2. Hold the microphone about 5cm away from your mouth
  3. Don't speak too quickly and pronounce your words clearly
  4. Remember to smile
  5. Try not to move your head or body around too much
  6. Make sure your voice isn’t monotone. It needs to have a little light and shade even when you’re reading a serious news scrip
